Orders & Picking

The order queue

The order queue shows all unfulfilled orders from your Shopify store. Orders appear automatically as they are placed by customers, with no manual import needed.

You can filter orders by date, status, and other criteria to find the ones you want to batch together. Select multiple orders to create a pick batch, or use the "Select All" option to batch everything in the queue.

Orders that are already assigned to an active batch will not appear in the queue. Once a batch is fulfilled or cancelled, those orders return to the queue if they are still unfulfilled.

The queue updates in real time as new orders come in from Shopify. You do not need to refresh the page to see new orders.

Generating pick lists

Pick lists are generated by selecting orders from the queue and clicking "Create Batch." BinHQ consolidates all line items across the selected orders and groups them by bin location.

The consolidation process combines identical items from different orders. If three orders each contain the same product, the pick list shows one entry with a quantity of three, along with the bin location where the product is stored.

Items on the pick list are sorted by bin sort order, creating an efficient walk path through the warehouse. Pickers start at the first bin and work their way through in sequence, picking all items at each stop.

You can print the pick list or share it digitally with pickers through the mobile interface. The printed version includes bin locations, product names, SKUs, and quantities.

Mobile picker flow

The mobile picker interface is designed for warehouse workers using phones or tablets. Pickers access the app through a simple PIN-based login -- no email or password required.

Once logged in, the picker sees their assigned batch with items sorted by bin location. They walk to each bin, pick the items, and tap to mark them as collected. The interface is optimized for one-handed use.

Pickers can scan barcodes using their device camera or a connected Bluetooth scanner to verify they are picking the correct item. This reduces picking errors and speeds up the process.

When all items in a batch are picked, the picker marks the batch as complete. The batch then moves to the packing stage where an admin can review and fulfill the orders.
